WebDec 8, 2024 · Once the flange is red, the stud should back out. If not, let everything cool. Try removing the stud then. If it wont come out, repeat the process. After 3 tries, if its still stuck, then remove the manifold. Ether replace it with a junk yard one, or bring it to a machine shop. They can mill the studs out, but it wont be cheap. WebJun 13, 2009 · Trouble is brazing really adds a lot of heat, likely worsening the warping problem. Better way would be stick weld w/ 7018 then having the surfaced milled. Stick welding would heat the flange less that the gas welding and of course the mill would be dead-on.
