Have each 8’x4′ sheet cut into six equal pieces, along the longer direction while in the store. Each cut piece will be approximately 7 7/8 inches by 8 feet long. The mdf fits snugly inside the hatch hole and the shiplap gets screwed through the molding around the hatch into the wall. Hole is about 2 ft by 2.5 ft., framed on all 4 sides by 1/2 inch molding and 2x4 studs/header.
