Orciprenaline is a moderately selective β2 adrenergic receptor agonist that stimulates receptors of the smooth muscle in the lungs, uterus, and vasculature supplying skeletal muscle, with minimal or no effect on α adrenergic receptors. WebOrciprenaline led to a significant deterioration of the pH, pCO 2 and pO 2 levels and an increase of the pulse and respiration rate. Xantinol-nicotinate treated infants as well as the control group showed no significant changes of the above mentioned parameters.
