The main problem would be the threads on your 583 are 1/2" x 28, and the M1A flash hider would be 5/8" x 24. The M1A flash hider being for a .30 caliber, and your Mini-14 being a .22 caliber would not cause any problems. Now, if you had a Mini-30, an M1A flash hider should screw right on.
